It was my bestests annual Birthday BBQ last Sunday and so it was the perfect time for "Casualising". A word apparently branded by Solange Knowles to describe how she dresses down her glam style by employing a rule such as two parts dressy to one part casual.
So whether that means swapping your heels for trainers with that new dress, or like me throwing on a loose tee to dress down my heels and oh so girly 50's midi; you will never be too overdone! Finally an in-between answer for that "will I be too over/under-dressed?" question, because frankly "it's always better to be over-dressed" just doesn't cut it in a media image judgmental society anymore! So thanks Solange for answering our practical prayers.

Monday Must Have| Statement Sunglasses.

Sunglasses are a key necessity for fashion bloggers and although I already have a healthy collection that's seven frames deep its should be no surprise I've got my eyes on more. Whether its going oversized, patterned, mirrored or opting for one of the more abstruse shapes that have come straight off of the catwalk, this year the more of a statement you're making the better!

Outfit | Sleep Walking.

Jacket // Glamorous*
Teddy jumper // Topshop
Slip dress // Topshop
Shoes // Zara
Bag // Zara
Sunglasses // &Other Stories

I may be wearing a nighty and teddy bear jumper, but I'm anything but ready for bed! Our bed-time cozzies are slowly making their way in to daytime comforts; with underwear as outerwear a formality nowadays that its cool again to flash your dainty, lace bra straps and highwaisted knickers not just something you spotted suspended from your nans washing line! The lines between leisure and day-wear are blurring, 'Sports Luxe' paved the way for this and soon comfort dressing won't just be that thing you do when hungover or on a "fat day". Trends are evolving further and now we can look presentable whilst still being comfortable thanks to plush shearling, lightweight silks and quilted textures- no I haven't just described your new Laura Ashley bed-set, pajamas just got a whole lot more stylish!

Outfit | Casual Camo.

Beanie // Brandy Melville
Bomber // Alpha Industries*
Tunic // Topshop
Midi // Topshop
Sandals // Primark
Tote // h&m

Things are cooling off in the UK so I'm back to my summer layers! Bombers are here to stay for A/W14 and grey is the new black so when I received this cool-toned camouflage version from Alpha Industries I was happy the sun had momentarily gone in. With Kanye a fan of the brand, urban casual styling was my food for thought and taking inspiration from the man himself I styled my bomber jacket with a long-line plain tee and beanie hat, feminising my outfit with a grey midi skirt and simplistic strap sandals. Next I'm looking forward to re-creating a more Kimmy K outfit pairing this camo bomber with white skinnys and a pointed stiletto- his & hers, day-to-night at its best!
