Diary Day #2

sunday 4th march somebody that i used to know
FYI I take my tea strong with lots of milk, 2 sugars.

So keeping up with the Diary Day lasted long.. although after having my phone stolen last weekend it was like the cherry on top and I really didn't feel up to doing anything. Me and my friend put my bad luck down to it being a leap year, so hopefully it'll pass now! (any excuse)

I've finally got back in the game of Youtube, after a month not feeling up to filming I was missing it too much and filmed an OOTD yesterday that you can watch here. It's strange when you haven't filmed in so long, its like going back to square one and you lose the confidence to do it so you put it off more and more!

I'm going to Venice on Thursday. It's one of those places on my list of 'must visit' that I'll finally be able to tick off. It just looks so beautiful and the idea of it being 'the floating city' really interests me. Hopefully I'll be able to post whilst I'm out there as I'm taking my laptop but if not I'll have plenty of photos to share with you when I'm back!

If you have been to Venice, Italy before is there anything you suggest trying/doing?

  8. I love Venice, was there over New Years...

they have a great museum pass, students pay about 15 Euro (not too sure, but it was not that much) and you were able to visit all the 12 public museums... including the Doge's palace...

For shopping: My aboslute favouriete is a little shop called "Il mercante di Sabbia", selling great assescoires and home objects. Even though not affordable you get many DIY inspirations in there. You will find it at the corner of Calle Dei Saoneri/ Calle Dei Secondi Saoneri...

Since you are British (^^): There is a nice, little Tea room, also making excellent coffee and nice little snack. ( http://maps.google.de/maps?client=opera&rls=de&oe=utf-8&channel=suggest&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=tea+room+venezia&fb=1&gl=de&hq=tea+room&hnear=0x477eaf0a53526f1f:0x407098715915fb0,Venedig,+Italien&cid=0,0,16691705635177201058&ei=y-RUT-ihDYbB0QXzwvTTCw&sa=X&oi=local_result&ct=image&ved=0CDcQ_BI ) (In case the link does not work, just type in Caffe' Orientale Tearoom Di Elena Mazzacurati Venezia and you should be able to find it)

And at last, I was really surprised to find this after being in Venice for that many times, but there is a little coffee roastery right at the main shopping street. The coffee is delicious, freshly roasted and really cheap... was there nearly every day^^ (http://www.torrefazionemarchi.it/) It does look much nicer in reallife as the website is...

    Still

    have a nice trip...^^

    1. Thank you so much Esther this has been soo helpful! The tea room sounds lovely, me and my mum love to have tea and cake (in true brit style). And the price for all those museums seems really reasonable. I will definitly check out that shop, I love little places like that in other countries so hopefully I get plenty of inspiration.
Thanks for the great tips, I'll try get some snaps of the places for my posts :)

  9. I went to Venice for my 21st birthday last month. I didnt really plan my visit i just wanted to go with the flow. I found that its much much nicer walking round rather than getting the water bus. You will come across so many more interesting places that the locals love rather than the bus. Also near the rialto bridge there is a bar called bacarro jazz....its the one with lots and lots and lots of bras all hanging from the ceiling. the staff are so friendly aswell, we had such a great time in there.

The only way i can describe venice is that time seems to stop there, you just feel so relaxed and taken back by everything, its truly amazing. I really hate walking in the uk but when i was there i walked for 4 days solid and loved it. It was epically cold when i went so make sure you wrap up and bring a nice pair of warm walking boots.

Hope you have an amazing time, cant wait to see the pics

    1. Thanks for this great message, so helpful! I wasn't going to plan either, Im a go with the flow girl and just want to go for the beauty of the city but my mums a planner haha.. I'll leave it to her and tell her what you mentioned. The water bus sounds really expensive aswell? We are going to do a couple of the recommended 2 hour walks lol. I'll look out for this bra bar too ;)
Hopefully my Doc's will be good enough to walk in :s
      Thanks again :)
