Monotone Merlot.

Knitwear // Primark
Cords // Urban Outfitters
Boots // Missguided
Bag // Primark

As the cold months come around I definitely gravitate towards berry tones year after year! There is something warming about the colours wine, burgundy and oxblood that perk up my grey winter skin, so naturally I had to create a head to toe look! Whenever I'm working a monotone outfit I make sure to mix textures in place of colour so things don't look to flat, here I teamed a chunky wool knit with corduroy jeans. Not wanting to distract too much from the one tone palette I've kept accessories to a minimum and gone for a light matching stone wash.

Outfit | Laidback Luxe

Beanie hat // Asos
Faux Fur jacket // Primark
Drop hem tshirt // Primark
Leather joggers // Zara
Bucket bag // Select
Brogues // Missguided

Every so often I feel the urge to channel my inner urban gurl, get back to my err.. roots? I guess I can thank growing up in east London for that and of course my love of hip hop, listening to the likes of LL Cool J, Missy Elliot, and Lauryn Hill must have rubbed off on me more than just my killer dance moves.. hmmm!
The freedom to experiment with outfits and personnas is what can make fashion so interesting and expressive. As long as I'm still sticking to my style of laidback luxe (two parts effortless, one part elegance) I'm comfortable exploring trends, because after all you should be able to develop and adapt your style to find what suits you best. And if you can't experiment in your twenties when can you?!

Outfit | Furry Friend

Coat // Glamorous*
Knitwear // Zara
Jeans // H&M
Trainers // Asos
Bag // Zara

On our last 'Monday Must Have' we spoke about this winters essential faux fur cover-up and I drooled over the endless options available from Glamorous. One of those inspirational images included a burgundy fluffy number that sealed the deal on which colour was the one for me! And here it now is in all its cuddly glory, I literally haven't put it down! It's the perfect pick me up on a cold day. Sometimes fur (with its glam self) can be a little OTT so I've pared it down with an all black ensemble and in contrast opting for casual crisp white trainers, that if you squint have a certain Acne vibe about them right?

Outfit | Morning blues

Coat // Jaeger. Scarf // Rose and Rose. Jumper // Forever 21. Skirt // Primark. Boots // Asos. Bag // Primark

This jumper has to be one of my favourite purchases this season! At only £17.50 I can't believe the quality and warmth of the knit, and the fact its ticking two trends in one- roll neck and navy! Rose and Rose sent me this beautiful cashmere scarf so it was the perfect opportunity to pile up my blues on a crisp autumn morning. Cashmere is an ideal texture for our recent confusing weather because it fights off the chill whilst still being lightweight, definitely worth the investment.

Outfit | Nouveau Neutrals

Coat // Missguided
Tee // Forever 21
Skirt // Missguided
Pointed flats // Primark
Bag // Vintage

Neutrals are the fundamental basis that make up an outfit, they usually consist of those tonal colours such as black, white, grey and nudes that are building blocks to balance out the composition alongside print or bold colour. But today I want to talk about the 'new' neutrals that may come as a surprise to some and the ability to work these all together the same as you would a monochrome look.

Firstly the camel coat is undeniably a 'must have' again this winter, and that's due to it working so well with a variety of other colours by breaking up an outfit with a warmth that suits every skin tone.

The breton stripe is another must-have I have touched on before. This classic print works well with others and is also a great way to ease into including pattern to an otherwise simple outfit.

Lace has always been a traditional and elegant texture that adds interest to an outfit without committing to an obvious print.

Leopard spots have firmly planted themselves as a leading print that is here to stay season after season. Whether you want to make a statement in head to toe leopard, add a splash to an all black outfit, introduce as an accessory to break up a look, or clash it with another print, these spots are a favourite all round!

Outfit | Suit up, Look sharp

Hat // Primark

Cropped top // Missguided

I wouldn't exactly consider myself a smart person, being in the fashion industry means I’ve never really had to conform to strict work wear, and I haven’t worn a uniform since school when even then I would bend the rules. Luckily, comfort seems to be the latest concept in fashion with even the most tailored of suits being worn with trainers. So when Missguided contacted me to get down to business with their ‘Suit Up’ campaign I knew I’d be putting a casual spin on things.

If you’re from a more corporate background you may want to save the satin crop top for after work drinks and trade it for a shirt during office hours and of course, loose the hat! Black sleeveless Missguided blazers, tapered trousers and pointed brogues should be your new staples as all can be smartened up separately during the week and dressed down at the weekend, whichever suits!
