5 Fashion Faux Pas even Madonna wouldn't fall for

// Head to toe looks \\

As chic as the mannequin may look, style should enhance on your personality so unless you want to model yourself on a plastic doll, best to leave it in the window!

// Copy Cat \\

We all have that someone who's individual style we admire, and where there is nothing wrong with being inspired by it there is when mimicking! What suits them may not suit you, have confidence in your taste and take elements of an outfit to apply to your own measurements to ensure it's unique to you. I have no admiration to live in a world resembling The Island! Be yourself, keep it personal!

* exception applies when 'twinning' with BFF (Best fashion friend)

// Lamb dressed as Mutton \\

Equally as awkward as 'Mutton dressed as Lamb' - "Granny Chic" is just a term turned cool by students who spent their weekend rummaging through the Oxfam bins after spending all their loan on £1.50 Jagerbombs! Vintage Chanel hand-me-downs from your Nan is one thing, someone else's nans' M&S isn't.

// Baby Giraffe Syndrome \\

There's no denying the right heels have many advantages such as adding height to us shorties, elongating the body and improving poor posture. But there's nothing sexy about a girl trotting down the highstreet knee over foot in heels too high. Most of us learnt to walk at a young age, why quit now?

// Second skin \\

Skin colour tights.. specially when worn with open toe shoes, No! If you want to show skin then bare it.. if it's too cold wear trousers! Nobody wants to be subjected to someones' toes as they undergo a masked robbery on their shoes.

N.B If for some mad reason any of these become future trends then of course, I take it all back!

Outfit | Camel Camel Goat.

Fedora // Primark
Jumper // Zara
Jeans // Topshop
Boots // Paul & Bear
Bag // Mulberry

The debut of my proud new addition to my collection and my first designer bag! Christmas came late but Santa (Mum) must have been working hard making this beautiful Mulberry Small Lily, it's the perfect size for both day and night as it fits all my essentials. I've been favouring crossbody bags over my carryalls of late because they don't weigh me down throughout the day and I can just throw them over an outfit for an instant chic accessory, to go hands free for phone and coffee! I once said my first Designer bag would always be black, I think if you're going to invest in something it should be timeless and classic.. unless of course you're Kim Kardashian then darling have what you like! However with nudes and greys becoming more of a neutral wardrobe alternative than ever before when I saw this Mulberry in 'Goat' I fell in love! It not only goes with neutrals but makes a statement against an all black outfit too and is a year round colour! I chose to go for a tonal camel outfit by pairing it with my Zara side split jumper and Primark Fedora I finally got my hands on.

Outfit | Combating the shirt dress

Fedora hat // Primark
Coat // Glamorous
Shirt Dress // Glamorous
Boots // Paul & Bear

So there I was not a wearer of green and here it is featuring twice in a fortnight! And it won't be the last you see of it either as I have recently made yet another purchase within the tonal family. This khaki shirt dress will be a key piece well into spring summer with the Utility trend coming through strong this year. I can't wait to pair this with a sleeveless blazer and lace up sandals to battle the heat in style! Until then the only skin that will see some sun is this peek above my over the knee boots. I'd been toying with the idea of getting a pair as I've always been more of an ankle boot kind of girl, however I've been loving this short vs long combo I've seen on everyone since fashion week. So I've lately caved and I wish I'd done it sooner because these are super comfortable, add just the right amount of height for the day and I can now make my skirts winter appropriate. If the idea of knee high boots seems a little Moulin Rouge for you, as long as you keep the rest of your outfit (and make up) casual/simple and stick to either a flat or block heel over a stiletto, you'll be attracting the right sort of attention!
